Second Cross-Institutional PhD Research Colloquium Migration

Second Cross-Institutional PhD Research Colloquium Migration

Posted on behalf of The Essex Centre for Migration Studies

The Essex Centre for Migration StudiesUEA Migration Research Network, and the Sussex Centre for Migration Research, organize a one-day colloquium to explore issues on migration, mobility and inequalities and, to discuss it in relation to longer-term impacts of immigration on sending, transit, and receiving socities. Much of the most exciting research in these fields is being conducted by emerging postgraduate scholars. Recognizing this, our three research centres are collaborating to bring together PGR students from across the UK and beyond to a Colloquium on Migration on 20th June 2019. The Colloquium will allow students to present their work to other PGR students and senior researchers from various universities in a stimulating environment, and serve as a creative forum for academic exchange on contemporary challenges facing migration studies. The day will consist of different panels of 3 presentations (15 minutes each), as well as a keynote lecture by Professor David Voas from University College London.

We invite  PhD research students, senior researchers and migration scholars who wish to attend the colloquium as participant from both inside and outside the Essex community. Entry is free. All welcome, but please book a place.
