Black History Month Book Group

Black History Month Book Group

Posted on behalf of Albert Sloman Library

The library will be holding a book group on Tuesday 16th October between 17:30 - 19:30, celebrating Black History Month.

After voting throughout September, students have decided that the group will discuss Akakla's Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire. In personalised chapters covering the police, education and identity, politics, sexual objectification and the far right, he confronts the issues of race and class at the heart of the legacy of Britain's racialised empire in this fierce and articulate polemic.

This event is open to all and is free of charge, however it would be greatly appreciated if you are able to register your interest through this page. Free tea and coffee will also be provided!
